Most steel wheels take full wheel covers or hubcaps. Aluminum wheels take a smaller center cap cover and are either a machined finish or painted finish with a hard clear coating. There are some “styled” steel wheels which are painted. These will not have the clear coating, just a painted surface which scratches easily. Chrome wheels can be either steel or aluminum.
